Barcelona join the race to sign Van de Ven

Latest from Your Site News' Dharmesh Sheth and Amar Mehta:

Barcelona are among a number of clubs keeping an eye on Micky van de Vens situation at Tottenham.

Van de Ven, who also has interest from the Premier League, has held initial talks with Spurs over a contract extension but there is no agreement yet.

The Netherlands international has two years left on his deal with Spurs holding an option to extend for a further 12 months.

Spurs want him to stay long-term, and head coach Roberto De Zerbi has described him as the best left-sided central defender in the Premier League.

'AC Milan considering Amorim-Ugarte reunion'

AC Milan are considering a move for Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to The Mirror.

Milan have appointed former United boss Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, who could look to make Ugarte his first signing since returning to management.

United signed the Uruguay international from Paris Saint-Germain for 42m in 2024 but he has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.

Ugarte started just eight Premier League games last season, with current United boss Michael Carrick informing him that he was not part of his plans moving forward.

Leipzig want more than 86m for Liverpool target Diomande

RB Leipzig want significantly more than the 86m Liverpool have indicated they are prepared to pay for teenage winger Yan Diomande, according to Sky in Germany

Leipzig would like to keep the 19-year-old for another season and have plans to offer him a new contract with a pay rise. He is currently earning around 33,000 per week plus bonuses.

Liverpool are aware of the widespread interest in the Ivory Coast winger, who impressed in his nation's World Cup opener as they beat Ecuador 1-0.

Paris Saint-Germain are among the most serious of Liverpool's competition for Diomande, but Sky in Germany reports that there has been no offer from the back-to-back European champions for the winger.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are the other clubs that have been closely monitoring Diomande's progress.

The 86m fee Liverpool are ready to pay at this stage would dwarf the Premier League's record transfer for a teenager, surpassing the 58.9m Manchester United agreed to sign Leny Yoro from Lille for in the summer of 2024.

It has been a remarkable rise for Diomande, who was signed by Leipzig from Leganes last summer for 17.3m (20m). He had started just half a dozen games for the Spanish side.

Two years ago the Ivorian was training at an athletic academy in Florida and now he finds himself as one of the most in-demand footballers in Europe.

'Arsenal set to make offer for prospect'

Arsenal are set to make an offer to sign Georgia U21 international Andria Bartishvili, according to the BBC.

The 17-year-old prospect is currently at FC Kolkheti until the end of 2026 and the Gunners are reportedly set to make a pre-contract offer for the attacking midfielder.

Bartishvili is viewed as one of the brightest talents in Georgia with several clubs, including Juventus, also monitoring his situation.

Papers: Liverpool interested in 86m deal

'De Zerbi wants Mateus Fernandes'

Tottenham are considering a move for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with head coach Roberto De Zerbi understood to be driving the interest, according to The Athletic.

Spurs also retain an interest in Newcastle's Sandro Tonali, although their pursuit of the midfielder is understood to be separate to their interest in Fernandes.

Manchester City are among the clubs also monitoring Tonali's situation, according to the report.

Tottenham announce signing of Van Hecke

Tottenham have announced the signing of Netherlands international Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

The 26-year-old centre-back has signed a long-term contract and becomes Roberto De Zerbi's latest addition ahead of the new season.

Van Hecke said: "It's a huge honour to become a Spurs player and when you join such a big club, it's a dream come true.

"I already have a really strong connection with the Head Coach, who I'm looking forward to working with again. Micky [van de Ven] has also told me some great things about the Club, so I can't wait to get started.

"I've been at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as an opposition player and now I'm looking forward to walking out there in front of our fans wearing the Spurs shirt. That will be a special moment."
